Agricola da Schio is a family-run farm established between Vicenza, in the Berici Hills, and Villadose, in the Polesine plain, thanks to the collaboration of Francesco and Berardo da Schio, farmers and agronomists with a deep passion for the land, for the sustainability of high-quality food and wine production, and for the beauty of the landscape.
Over the years, Francesco has devoted himself to developing the Villadose farm (Agricola Pettorina), with free-range pig farming, stationary beekeeping and the production of cereals and other arable crops, whilst Berardo has driven forward the wine-making and agroforestry activities of Agricola da Schio.
In both cases, the farm bases its work on the principles of agroecology and on regenerative and organic farming methods, promoting cultivation techniques that respect the soil, water, air and biodiversity.
Agricola da Schio is an ever-evolving agricultural laboratory.
It is a place where new ideas are cultivated, where the culture of the land and the study of plants become tools for experimenting with new products and services, aimed at making the most of what the local area has to offer.
Every plant is interconnected with the others within an ecosystem, and every agricultural action becomes a step towards a more resilient ecosystem.
We believe that sustainable agriculture is a way of listening to nature, observing its rhythms and showing it respect through conscious choices and practices.
It is from this vision that the Bosco delle Vigne project takes shape, a place where woodland and vines coexist in harmony and where biodiversity takes centre stage.
We have chosen to revitalise our land through agroforestry models, where fruit trees, vines, olive trees and shrubs coexist within a dynamic ecosystem.
This approach restores fertility to the soil, protects local wildlife and creates agricultural landscapes capable of nourishing not only those who cultivate the land, but also those who live in these places.
On the slopes of the Berici Hills, we have rediscovered the technique of ‘maritata’ vines, an ancient farming practice that pairs the vine with a supporting tree, creating a bond of mutual benefit.
Here, the vines grow intertwined with native species such as the field maple, reviving ancient knowledge and transforming it into a model of contemporary agricultural sustainability.
We want to create a living landscape that showcases the beauty of the Vicenza region and promotes sustainable rural tourism based on authenticity, awareness and respect.
For us, agriculture is a bridge between the past and the future: a way to restore value to our land.
